Some brides try to save money on their wedding by making some of the items that they need by themselves. Some of these items can be the wedding cake, the wedding dress or even the flower bouquets and wrist corsages. This is something that you can do by yourself or with the help of family and friends. It is a good bonding activity that you can do with your bridesmaids before the wedding.
These are the steps in making a mother of the bride wrist corsage:
Items that you will need. The items that you will need for this project are a wristlet, glue gun, glue sticks, floral tape, scissors and the flowers that you will use for the corsage. If you are going to use fresh flowers, make sure that you place them in the refrigerator to keep them fresh. To save money, you can use synthetic flowers instead. There are synthetic flowers that look just like real ones. You just have to choose wisely when purchasing.
Design of the wrist corsage. The design of the wrist corsage must be similar to the boutonnieres of the men for uniformity. Use the boutonnieres as a guide but make the design of the wrist corsage more feminine. For the wrist corsage, the ideal design is to place a big flower at the center and add some fillers on the sides. Do not add too many flowers on the wrist corsage unless you only want small flowers without a central flower.
Making the corsage. Group the flowers that you are going to use together. You can use floral tape on the stems of the flowers. Add some filler flowers such as baby’s breath. Make sure that the flowers are not too heavy or else it might droop down when worn. Once you have the arrangement for the flowers, trim long stems with the scissors. You can tie a ribbon on the stems of the flowers to add decoration to the wrist corsage. Secure the ribbon in place by using the glue gun.
Stick arrangement to the wristlet. Attach the wrist corsage to the wristlet. You can do this with the glue gun. Just make sure that the glue is not visible when the wrist corsage is worn. Now you have a mother of the bride wrist corsage. Test the wrist corsage by wearing it to see if the flowers are attached to the wristlet properly. Add more glue to the wristlet if the flowers are drooping.
Refrigerate the wrist corsage. Place the wrist corsage in a plastic container with holes and put it inside the refrigerator. This will keep the flowers fresh and ready for the wedding.
If you are going to use fresh flowers, it is best to prepare the wrist corsage a day before the wedding. It is advisable to use synthetic flowers instead of fresh ones if you are planning to make wrist corsages for the bridesmaids since you may not have enough time to prepare all the arrangements a day before the wedding.

It’s prom season and you know someone needs a corsage. While you can always get one at the local florist’s, finding a unique one can be a challenge. This article will help you get that unique corsage you wanted. Today, you will learn how to make one with the use of some beautiful orchids. Keep reading to find out!
Prepare the things you need. A wrist corsage made out of orchids means a stop at the local florist. Ask him or her to pick out a fresh and healthy orchid stalk for your project. Explain what you ought to do with it and give him some time to help you pick out the other things you’ll need for your corsage such as the some ribbon, wire and tape.
Unfasten the orchids from the stalk. To do so, make sure to carefully detach the orchids from its stalk. 3 orchids buds are needed. As much as possible, exercise caution when handling the orchids because the buds have a tendency to fall off due to sensitivity. When cutting off the stems, maintain an inch.
Group the flowers together. Coil the wire around each of the previously detached flowers and use the tape to bind everything together. With your hands, position the flowers closely against each other like those of other corsages. If you wanted to style its formation, take the biggest flower and place it as the center while keeping the two others closely at its side. Now you can officially bind the stems together with the tape. Make sure to firmly wrap it around the stems to make sure its grip is strong enough to withstand moving the corsage around.
Take another orchid for space behind the corsage. From the remainder of the buds left on the orchid stalk, take one of them and detach it from the stalk. Keep in mind that its stem should be much longer than the three others you have cut previously. Ideally, anywhere from 5-6 inches should be fine depending on the size of the other three flowers. You want the orchid to be visible even from the front. Using the tape once again, flip the corsage the other way around and fasten the additional orchid onto the back. Make sure you have firmly taped it into place.
Finish your corsage. Using the ribbon, wrap it around the wearer’s wrist and leave an extra 2-3 inches on top of the initial measurement for allowance. Estimating is also your next best bet if the wearer isn’t there. Flip the corsage onto its back and half hitch the ribbon the stem. It’s best to make your corsage a night before the actual event but this is completely up to you. To maintain the quality of the orchids, keep the corsage in a container and let it cool in a fridge overnight.
Since most wrist corsages nowadays look very similar, it’s important to stand out among a crowd of other corsage wearers. Give your corsage maker some justice by showing your corsage off in the best way possible. Homemade corsages are the best way to go! Contrary to what others will say, anyone and everyone can make their very own unique wrist corsage.

Though the formal corsage is sometimes thought to be out of vogue, there are some occasions when a simple corsage at the wrist is the perfect addition to your ensemble. The arrangements prove a huge complement to a ordinary ensemble for a special dance. Following a few easy steps you can also create your own corsage. You will only need the following:
- Two medium-sized flowers (same color)
- Two stems of leaves
- Two or three small flowers to enhance the larger flowers
- Florist’s tape and wire
- Pair of scissors or garden snippers
- Rubber band
Select the flowers. There are many classic choices for corsages as well as more contemporary choices. Bold bright colors with flower patterns demonstrate confidence and will enhance your wardrobe options.
To liven up your daily wear, consider incorporating daisy’s or daffodils.
Set the flowers. Snip the stems to three inches long. This length allows you to assemble the floral arrangement more easily, although you may need to trim the stems later. Bind the flowers with tape after you have sorted them into groups. You will want to make certain that the blooms will be facing the way opposite of your wrist, do this by holding the stems together. When you have bunched the stems together, use the floral tape to wrap and hold them all.
The next step is to add the smaller flowers. Flowers that are added as filler add structure to your design. In order to cover the stems place 1 flower between the 2 flowers. Use tape to make the stems secure. Just add some of the leaves. In order to secure the leaves to the corsage, tape the right and left side or the top and bottom of the blooms. The flowers will almost have a bouquet appearance because of the delicate leaves that frame them.
If you use your wrist as a guideline, cut the elastic to the proper length. Wrap the elastic around your wrist, and then cut one inch over the needed length for proper overlap of the elastic. In order to wear the corsage on the wrist you will need to fasten an elastic band to it. For attaching the elastic to the back of the flower stems, use the floral wire or tape. You should hide the elastic beneath the flowers while wearing a corsage.
Put the corsage on. This wrist nosegay will go with any formal outfit. You can take it for a special event or even for a night on the town.
Creating a corsage permits you to generate an original pattern by using your preferred flowers. With some simple materials from your florist or craft store, you can create the corsages you dream of. All you r friends will admire the corsage that you create.
